Lately I have been listen to parnets talk about why they are going to breastfeed their newborn. Here in the USA breastfeeding is widely push for new moms to try and do if they can. Working in a building with women it is amazing because all they talk about how they are able to bond with their baby. The mom are allowed time from their calssrooms to pump milk for their babies. I once had a talk with my mom and asked if she ever breastfed me and she said "yes" I than asked her why she did so? "Her responce was it allowed me time to spend with you before I had to work." I have read many articiles on why it is important to breastfeed and the major outcome was that the child would be healthier when they get older. I am told that there are a lot of nutritan in a mother breast milk. I this topic is meaningful to because my mother breastfed me.
I looked at breastfeeding over in Asia because of their large population. As I read many areas are not breastfeeding like other areas and baby survial is very high. As time went on a study was preformed to show mom how babies that were giving breast milk had a better chance of life.

Tamika,
ReplyDeleteI find it amazing how a simple act of holding a child close to breast feed can significantly influence a child's biosocial, cognitive, and psychosocial development in a positive way (Berger, 2009). It just goes to show that even little things can make a big difference.
