NAEYC I-1.2 To base program practices upon current knowledge and research in the field of early childhood education, child development, and related disciplines, as well as on particular knowledge of each child.
Significance: With data, research, and knowledge, we can make better decisions on behalf of all children. I enjoy researching the data to support the case for investing in early childhood education and quality care.
NAEYC I-1.10 To ensure that each child’s culture, language, ethnicity, and family structure are recognized and valued in the program.
Significance: The developmental milestones and teaching strategies are present in all classrooms and with books, dolls, toys, posters and music. these things help children become comfortable in their new setting. I enjoy having the children teach me the primary language they speak when their home.
NAEYC I-2.2 To develop relationships of mutual trust and create partnerships with the families we serve.
Significance: I start the school year off with a welcome letter to all of the parents in class introducing myself and the assistant teacher, i feel this will start the process of building a relationship with the families.
