As I look at my life now I can honestly say that I have the support of many individuals such as family, friends, and teachers. When I think of the word support there are many things that comes to my mind such as people that are in your comer no matter what happens in life. Also looking at the word support there are different types of support such as: support one will receive in the store when they need it, there is also technical support when is have trouble with a piece of equipment they will call for help.
In my family there is a host of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins that support everything I do in my life. There is also my church family that supports me spiritually and naturally. Growing up as a child my family would support me by being there when I need them, weather it was to showing up at school because I was performing in a program. All of my family supports me and wants me to do will in life. When I was going to move away to another state my family was supportive of that move because it was a positive a move it was to make me better. My church family gives me the spiritual support by praying for when I am starting something new in life. They also support the work that I do in the church.
As I thought of a challenge where I would need support of my family and friends to help me get through the times in my life, I came up with the ability of not being able to speak or having the language to express my needs or my wants. I love to talk and I think it would be hard because I would need people to talk for me and I would have to learn how to use sign language. Learning sign language is something I wanted to do in life, not only learn it but be fluent in the language. Everyone that surrounds me would be supportive of me learning how to communicate effectively to others without any hindrances.
You have lots of wonderful support. No matter what the challenge, it would be a big adjustment for any one.

I like how you divided your supports between individuals, community, and technology. Leaving home to move to a different state must have been difficult. Leaving your supports many miles away would not be easy, although I am sure you kept in touch.

Great Post! It is defiantly true that true supporters have your back no matter what happens in life. It is also true that we have support in our daily activities that we may not notice such as the community or technical support.
ReplyDeleteTamika, it sounds like both your natural and spiritual families are supportive of you. That's a great feeling to know that you have people in your corner who genuinely support you and actually want to see you prosper in all that you do. In addition, its always something about having faith that helps you overcome any obstacle or face any new oppurtunitiesthat may come your way. I enjoyed reading your blog!

ReplyDeleteGreat Post. YOu have a wonderful supportive group behind you . Enjoyed reading your post.
You gave me something to think about. I always consider support as being family and friends. I never thought about other types of support. I guess we can't live in this world without any support. Support is always available, it just comes in different forms.
